Russiantearoom gallery booth @ Revelations 2019
May 23 — 28, 2019
Paris

On the occasion of the 2019 REVELATIONS fair, the RUSSIANTEAROOM gallery wishes to present the works of Russian and French artists, who explore the material in an organic way.

France, a Cartesian country, where creation is often restrained by tradition, politeness and subordination, has the possibility of expressing itself more freely and in a more true and sincere way on the field of arts and crafts.

Russia, the mysterious country, between East and West, always under the tension of its own demons, can only generate a wild, emotional, deeply committed and very visually marked creation. But whatever the country, the creator lives in his private world, and even if he is inspired by his roots, his experience, his passions and his daily life, he takes refuge, happy or unhappy, in his workshop, with his tools, his ideas and his work. His Art is his castle, his shelter, his hiding place, his life and each day spent, each creative gesture makes him stronger. This power, translated and transported in its objects, remains there forever, ready to animate another place, to become the possession and the possessor of its purchaser.

The RUSSIANTEAROOM gallery presents the work of 8 FEMMES artists (including one, Maria Kolosovskaya, creates in duo with Vladimir Kosiak, and another, Anna Pavlova, works solo and also in duet with Sasha Olkhovsky, with their brand Mineral Weather).

They work with various materials, exploring the flesh and treating it like sculptors. The rebellious material is suddenly tamed by the creators ... Undoubtedly partially erected, but this is how we feel its brilliance, potential and raw beauty better. On the Russiantearoom stand, you are a theater scene, where the line between reality and fiction is difficult to define. Everything is decorative, but some objects are very useful. The main heroine of the play has just left, but her universe has frozen, as if frozen by the breath of an unknown beast. Here are his raw rings and his small silver spoon (Mineral Weather), the skin in porcelain scales on the wall (Amandine Maillot), his hand-dyed coat, in incredible colors, carelessly placed on a chair (Daria Urkineeva), several ceramic vases , with the aspect of old wood (Maria Kolosovskaya and Vladimir Kosiak), or with lace prints (Asiya Bareeva), her impossible-to-read books and her ufo necklace (Marine Chevanse), the ceramic heads of magic animals , chased in dreams (Anna Pavlova), and, finally ... My God ... Objects of feminine pleasure in glass (Maria Koshenkova).

Most of them are young artists, some less seen, like Amandine Maillot or Maria Kolosovskaya, and the others, more than confirmed, like Maria Koshenkova, the international star of glass work or Asiya Bareeva, recognized fashion designer, with more then 10 collections and a very unique signature. What brings them together is above all this ability to treat matter differently, to blur the tracks, to assert its character through the pieces.

Wake up ... everything is for sale ...
